Rooms: This newest section of the resort contains 528 junior suites with hydro-massage bath tubs and separate jet showers with hydro-massage. They are house in 3 story villas.

The bedding features either 2 full size or 1 king size bed with “pillow top” mattresses. They also have either a balcony or terrace and new plasma satellite TVs. This is of course in addition to all of the amenities you would expect in a 5 star resort. They kindly also include a set of scales.

Beach: The beach in front of this resort is the same great, flat beach that runs along this part of the Bavaro Coast and is a walker’s paradise in addition to having beautiful gentle surf.

Pool: In this part of the complex there is a large swimming pool with large sun terraces and gardens with sunshades and wood sun beds.
Food: The restaurants are as follows: Main Restaurant (international buffet) with sea view: breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets; A la Carte Italian Restaurant: breakfast and lunch open as buffets; A la Carte Fish & Seafood Restaurant; A la Carte International Gourmet Restaurant; Restaurant on the beach with snacks and fast food. Open 24 hours (After midnight only soft drinks)
All a la Carte Restaurants offer air conditioning. They include the following: 3 A la Carte dinners per week; a choice of the 7 Specialty Restaurants in the complex: Italian; Fish & Seafood; Mediterranean; Mexican; Grill; International Gourmet.
Drinks: 1 Wet Bar in the swimming pool; 3 Bars on the beach; Lobby Bar; Bar Pakal; Snack Bar; Unlimited local drinks, beer and soft drinks in all of the hotel's bars until 11.00 pm; All local drinks at the "La Plaza Mayor" Bar and the "Sport Bar" located in the "Hacienda Doña Isabel".

Service/Staff: The staff was very friendly and accommodating during our visit.

Activities: The Gran Bahia Principe Ambar is situated adjacent to the new Golf Club Punta Blanca and near the Palma Real Cocotal Golf Club, Punta Cana Golf Club and a 90 minute drive to the Casa de Campo Golf Club. Of course all of the basic all-inclusive activities were available.

One nice feature of the resort was the Pueblo Principe, a unique “Caribbean Village” shopping area near the lobby of the resort. It contained several shops selling handicrafts, gifts, clothes and other items of interest; in addition to bars; internet café; piano bar; karaoke; restaurants; discotheque; casino; live music and entertainment; medial centre; chemist; and car and motorcycle for hire area.

Overall: The Gran Bahia Principe Ambar Caribbean-style hotel is Colonial in design and offers an adults only environment allowing adults of 18 years or older to relax in luxury. There are so many wonderful opportunities in this new addition. For those with luxury in mind some of the following features would be inviting: A privileged location closest to the beach; VIP amenities; butler services (on request); Bathrobe in room; and clients staying at Gran Bahia Principe Ambar have the right of using the facilities and services of the hotel as well as the rest of the facilities of the resort (5 swimming pools, 8 restaurants, 10 bars, 2 snack bars, 2 lobby bars and 4 wet bars).

This 5 star resort would surely please the most discerning.
